Artist’s Statement

Module Art by Ross Drago

Artist’s Statement

I developed Module Art as a way of unifying several different styles of painting, symbolic, impressionist and abstract, into  a coherent whole.  This way of painting allows the viewer to re-compose each painting endlessly as a way of dissolving the line between artist and viewer.  Each module art painting is therefore a co-creation, and like music, each painting exists in time and is ever changing.

Each viewer comes upon a painting that, because it was re-composed by the previous viewer, has never been seen before and will never be seen again. In this way, I share the realization that each moment in our lives is also unique to each individual.

I paint in an energy symbol language of my invention so that my subject matter can include not only people, places and everyday things,   but also more abstractly, waves of self-   definition and emotional changes.  In this way, I attempt to give form and expression to that which is invisible and celebrate that energy dance visually.

Hi Ross
I enjoyed our conversation yesterday about connecting and moving in the arts. I thoroughly enjoy your work and hope we can stay in touch and share more ideas and experiences in future. Thanks for welcoming my wife and I to San Francisco.

Take care

Victor ( came with Sue)
